What Happened – The Phantom Tollbooth Chapter 17
In Chapter 17 of The Phantom Tollbooth, Milo, Tock, and the Humbug arrive at the Castle in the Air. They are there to rescue the princesses, Rhyme and Reason. The trio climbs many stairs to reach the castle. When they get to the top, they meet the princesses. Rhyme and Reason thank Milo for coming.
The demons who had been chasing them start to arrive. Milo, Tock, and the Humbug hurry to escape with the princesses. They use a rope to lower themselves from the castle. The demons try to stop them by cutting the rope. Milo and his friends manage to reach the ground safely.
Once on the ground, they run towards the Kingdom of Wisdom. The demons continue to chase them. As they near the city, King Azaz and the Mathemagician appear. They have brought an army to help Milo and his friends. The demons see the army and stop their chase.
Milo, Tock, and the Humbug are safe now. King Azaz and the Mathemagician welcome the princesses back. The princesses bring peace and order to the kingdom.
