What Happened – A Separate Peace Chapter 1

One day, Finny suggests they jump from a tree into the river, a daring feat. Gene is hesitant but goes along with it. This jump becomes a regular activity for them. Finny decides to form a club called the Super Suicide Society of the Summer Session. The club’s members must jump from the tree to join.
During one of their jumps, Gene loses his balance. Finny grabs him and prevents him from falling. Gene realizes that he could have been seriously injured.
