What Happened – A Wrinkle In Time Chapter 6
In Chapter 6 of A Wrinkle in Time, Meg, Charles Wallace, and Calvin travel to a new planet called Camazotz. They arrive on this dark and eerie planet with the help of Mrs. Whatsit, Mrs. Which, and Mrs. Who. The three children are on a mission to find Meg and Charles Wallace’s father.
On Camazotz, they notice that everything seems very orderly and strange. The people there act in a mechanical way, doing things at the same time. They see children bouncing balls in perfect rhythm and mothers calling them inside simultaneously. The children feel uncomfortable with the uniformity and lack of individuality.
The group reaches a large building called CENTRAL Central Intelligence. They are told it is where they can find their father. As they approach the building, they are warned to be careful. They enter the building and encounter a man with red eyes. This man communicates with them telepathically. He tries to control their minds and make them conform to the planet’s ways.
Charles Wallace tries to resist the man’s influence, but eventually, he gives in. Meg and Calvin are worried about Charles Wallace’s safety. The chapter ends with Charles Wallace under the control of the man with red eyes, while Meg and Calvin remain determined to continue their mission to save their father.
